Can I start without using AI?

Yes. You can start with an empty chapter and write freely. The free plan allows you to work on 5 chapters. Writing and editing your text yourself uses no AI credits.

I already have a manuscript: can I import it?

You can import a Word file (.doc or .docx), PDF or text (.txt), or copy-paste your text. You then find your chapters in your writing space to review and rework them.

Which plan should I choose for my book?

How do AI credits work?

Can I prepare a book for Amazon KDP?

The Author and Pro plans offer PDF export and formatting settings. Pro adds EPUB export. A publishing guide is available in the app to help with your self-publishing process.

    Amazon KDP, self-publishing, step-by-step

    Complete guide to publish your book on Amazon KDP, from account creation to promotion.
    Step 1 — Create an Amazon KDP account
    Go to kdp.amazon.com and log in with your Amazon account (or create one).
    Then complete your tax information (W-8BEN form for non-Americans) and your banking details to receive your royalties.
    This process takes about 10 minutes. Your account is active immediately after validation.
    Step 2 — Prepare your files
    You will need two separate files :
    1. The manuscript (interior) : PDF file exported from Plumence. Use the "US Trade (15x23 cm)" format compatible with KDP.
    2. The cover : a separate image (JPG or PDF). You can use our cover generator or KDP's integrated Cover Creator.
    Step 3 — Recommended formats and specifications
    Book size : 15.24 x 22.86 cm (6" x 9") — the most common format on KDP.
    Interior margins : minimum 1.5 cm on binding side, 1 cm on outer side, 1.5 cm top and bottom.
    Cover : minimum 1600 x 2560 pixels, 300 DPI resolution, JPG or PDF format.
    Fonts : embedded in the PDF (which Plumence does automatically).
    Color : interior black and white (cheaper) or standard color.
    Step 4 — Fill in the metadata
    On KDP, provide the following information :
    Title and subtitle : be precise, this is what readers will see first.
    Author name : your real name or a pen name.
    Summary : 4000 characters max — use the "Book Summary" field in the special pages above.
    Categories : choose 2 categories that match your book (e.g., "Biographies", "Memoirs").
    Keywords : 7 keywords maximum to improve visibility in Amazon searches. Fill in the "Keywords" field above to prepare them.
    ISBN : KDP provides one for free, or use your own (ISBN field above).
    Step 5 — Set the price and royalties
    KDP offers two royalty programs :
    35% : for prices below €2.99 or above €9.99. No delivery fees deducted.
    70% : for prices between €2.99 and €9.99. Delivery fees are deducted (approximately €0.01/MB for ebooks).

    Tips :
    — Novel / narrative : between €4.99 and €7.99 (ebook format) or €12 to €18 (paperback).
    — Niche / specialized book : you can go up to €14.99 in paperback.
    — Start with an attractive price to get your first reviews.
    Step 6 — Publish and promote
    After submission, KDP verifies your book within 24 to 72 hours. Once approved, it is available for sale worldwide.

    To promote your book :
    — Share the Amazon link on your social networks and with those close to you.
    — Ask for reviews from your first readers (Amazon reviews are essential).
    — Use Amazon Ads (KDP advertising) to gain visibility.
    — Create an author page on Amazon Author Central.
    — Sign up for KDP Select to access Kindle Unlimited (unlimited reading subscription).
